What makes window treatments easy to clean? When we break it down, cleaning requires two things of us – our labor and our time. It takes effort to clean, our physical labor to dust, scrub, wipe, or otherwise clean a surface. And it takes time to clean, time that most homeowners would rather spend in other ways.
Therefore, when we look at what makes easy-to-clean window shades, it comes down to what styles of shades require the least effort and time to clean. After all, there is no such thing as a window shade that never needs cleaning, only those that require minimal labor and time. So consider what you’re willing to pay in the future, your time or your labor when looking at different types of easy-to-clean window shades.
Vertical Orientation vs. Horizontal Elements
Vertically orientated window treatments usually require less cleaning regularly than their horizontal counterparts. Due to having fewer places for dust to rest with vertical fronts, less accumulation of dust and debris means less need for cleaning – a time-saving benefit of vertical blinds over Venetian blinds.
